Description
The beloved Sutter Creek Volunteer Fire Department Dinner Dance “Fireman’s Ball” will be held
on August 30, 2025! Sutter Creek Volunteer Fire Association, Rotary Club of Passport to
Amador and Sutter Creek Community Benefit Foundation brought back the ball in 2022 as a
community service. The mostly locals event was deeply missed by long-timers and an entire
generation of “Fireman’s Ball Babysitters” had not had the chance to participate as adults.
This Sutter Creek Original back in full force is now the primary fundraiser for our three
organizations. Sutter Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Rotary Club of Passport to Amador,
and Sutter Creek Community Benefit Foundation produce the event as a team and split any
profits to reinvest into the community through our respective efforts in public safety, scholarship,
community service, and restoration.
The Sutter Creek Volunteer Fire Association works alongside the paid fire district staff to
provide additional emergency response support, fire prevention education and management,
and various invaluable services to the community. The association is raising funds to purchase
a Lucas Device machine that performs high quality uninterrupted chest compressions during
CPR. With 1-2 personnel responding to most medical aide calls in Sutter Creek, adding the
machine would be very beneficial to public safety.
The Sutter Creek Community Benefit Foundation had a busy year bringing back another
beloved event, The Great Sutter Creek Duck Race, and has established a Duck Race fund for
community led improvement projects. Look out for a large improvement project at the pool this
fall. SCCBF uses its own funds to award scholarships, produce our free history lecture series,
develop and maintain the museum, and is currently working on a video project featuring our
historical sites. This year the foundation’s major project is the last room in the Sutter Creek
Historic Grammar School yet to be restored.
The Rotary Club of Passport to Amador is an Amador-based volunteer service club that focuses
on giving back to our local community, including important areas of need such as our youth and
the environment. Recent projects funded in part by Fireman’s Ball proceeds were go-bags full of
necessities for foster kids, youth leadership camp sponsorships, and worm-composting kits for
local gardeners and classrooms. This next year, the club’s main project is implementing a
sustainable bee program to increase much-needed bee populations, which are in danger,
affecting our county’s vital agriculture, ecosystem, and economy.
Dinner tickets are $40 for adults and $15 for children, continuing the tradition of an annual,
multi-generational local celebration. Tickets can be purchased online at
suttercreekfoundation.org, at the Sutter Creek Firehouse, or the Sutter Creek Visitor Center.
The evening will include a tri-tip and spaghetti dinner prepared by our firefighters, live music and
dancing, full no-host bar, handmade dessert bar, and a raffle and silent auction.
We respectfully ask you to purchase dinner tickets and/or consider contributing an item for the
raffle or auction. Your contribution is tax-deductible under SCCBF Tax ID 87-1825043.
