Ione Veterans Memorial Park

The park was created to honor the veterans who have lived or currently live in the 95640 zip code area. The impetus to begin work on the park came from the loss of our hometown hero Jay-D-Ornsby-Adkins who was killed in Iraq. the park was built solely with donations from the community and continues to be maintained by money raised from 2 events annually- The Walk for the Troops in April and Sporting Clay Shoot in November
