About

Friends of the Amador County Library (FACL) was formed in 1974 to support the Amador County Library system. This includes the main Jackson Library and the branches in Ione, Pioneer, Pine Grove, and Plymouth. All branches benefit from help provided by our organization.

FACL raises money to support and enhance the county's library system. Over the years FACL's contributions have made possible a host of activities and purchases that might have otherwise not been possible, including new shelving, new books, a wealth of online resources, audio books, summer reading programs, and more. We also spearheaded the campaign that financed the digitization of Amador County's newspapers since 1855.

A membership in FACL provides financial support to the library. Our major fundraising project is our twice-a-year used-book sales, and we also host occasional special events. We also invite gift-giving such as memorials, bequests, donations, and group contributions. FACL is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (tax ID 94-2374918) which means that your donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

To join this group of nearly 400 dedicated volunteers who believe that good libraries define a community, please visit our website: friendsacl.org/membership. Business memberships are available.

If you have any questions please contact me directly or via this email. Thank you again for reaching out. We should have fixed this long ago!
