22nd Annual Winefest - Saturday, November 09, 2019

Saturday, November 9, 2019 (4:00 PM - 9:00 PM) (PST)

Description

Starting September 1st, tickets will go sale for the 22nd annual Winefest to be held Saturday, November 9, in historic Sutter Creek in Amador County. This popular wine tasting walkabout to kick-off the Holiday Season is the major fund raiser for the non-profit Amador County Arts Council, aka AmadorArts. Twenty-five shops on Historic Main Street will be decorated and open, each offering samples of one of the 25 family wineries of Amador County. Also included is the finale in the town auditorium featuring live music, silent auctions, and tastings of desserts and dessert wines. Winefest tickets are $45 + fees and are obtained using Brown Paper Tickets. Go to www.amadorarts.org and click on “Buy Tickets Now.” To make check-in quicker on the day of the event, print at home the ticket/receipt and bring them with you. Local locations are listed on the website. The way Winefest works is first, starting at 4:30 pm you visit the Sutter Creek Auditorium, at 18 Main St., to check in, picking up the Winefest Map, wristband, and commemorative wine glass. Fill out your complimentary raffle ticket, and take a look and bid on the many enticing silent auction items, including fine art, fine wines, deluxe packages of stays, trips and unique surprises. Then begin your journey up and down historic Main Street sipping and shopping, remembering to finish your glass before going to the next store (ABC law!). By 7:00 pm when the shops close, return to the auditorium, alive with Latin rhythm music by “Primitivo” and jazzy decorations. Indulge in samplings of desserts and dessert wines. Partake in the “Mystery Red Wine” grab bag for $20 and finalize your bids in the silent auctions, which have been known to get wild and crazy. And then, the party is over at 9:00 pm. For comfort and safety, the number of tickets to be sold is limited to this event. AmadorArts was established 37 years ago to embed the arts in schools and provide a diversity of inclusive arts-related opportunities for all ages, including underprivileged and marginalized groups. Buying tickets in advance online increases your chances of actually going. Do it early, as Winefest has sold out in recent years because it’s so much darn fun. For more info, phone 209-256-8166.
